NAVIGATING DARKNESS
It came to me during a morning meditation...
Many of us are being affected by what we see in the world. Chaos, disharmony and darkness.
Not just what is happening around us, but also was bubbling up inside of us... lots of rage, frustration and sadness.
It's interesting to see how everyone deals with this stuff.
Many of us feel pulled by the darkness and enveloped in a way that we cannot escape.
Others feel like all we need to do is to step into the light and focus solely on what is good and light.
And then we get into debates about the RIGHT way of doing this...
About the RIGHT way to the path of awakening...
About the RIGHT approach...
And when we do this... we allowing our EGOs to weave themselves in to try to "prove" some "superiority"...
Ultimately, we are ALL on the same spiritual path. Whether we are doing so willingly and consciously or we are being dragged into it kicking and screaming, it IS happening.
The world IS changing, we MUST awaken to BECOME a different kind of being if we are to create a different kind of world.
We need to stop judging and debating. We need to start allowing and building bridges, not walls.
We polarize things...and what we must do is UNIFY.
Even thinking about light and darkness we polarize... we judge... good & bad...
Darkness is not necessarily something to be avoided... it is simply our response and relationship to the darkness that we must be so conscious of.
Darkness and chaos are only destructive when we give them the energy to destruct and we polarize them. If we notice and accept them as part of our existence and our experience, we might recognize that it's simply a red flag... a SIGNAL... something that helps us see we have something to heal and resolve.
How can I speak of this?
Well for most of my life, it seems like I have been navigating people through and out of darkness.
It's not that I have some kind of invincibility cloak, it's simply that I have learned to use the darkness that has arised in me, as a signal of work that needs to be done, or something that needs to be healed, of an energy that needs to be released or transformed.
I've learned to navigate THROUGH it, rather than TAKE UP RESIDENCE in it.
I've learned to HEAL and TRANSFORM it, rather than PUSH IT DOWN or IGNORE IT.
It is by going deeper into the darkness to find what must be healed that we are able to come into the light.
This IT SEEMS is part of my LIFE PATH and part of my gift. To be a guide from the dark waters of the soul into the lightness of being that we all have (but perhaps have forgotten).
Sometimes we need DARK NAVIGATORS to helps us through these moments and patches so we can again find our light and inner brilliance.
In the dark waters, we need guides with a steady hand, a clear sight and soothing touch. People who may not be scared by the darkness, who know the path back out to light.
This has been my life's work. Whether its business or personal, we all get caught.
And yes, I also believe that we get to CHOOSE what we want to focus on bringing into our lives and those around us.
WHAT WE FOCUS ON IS WHAT GROWS.
It's not just me and you, but the energy that we spend in each of this has an equal reverberation and frequency into the world.
The more we spend giving ANGER and FRUSTRATION our power, the more we spread criticism, judgment, and contempt, the more we create it for everyone else around us.
So if you feel MAD or ANGRY... don't swallow it... don't push it down...NO,
It will darken your soul.
Get it out... but do so in a HEALTHY WAY that doesn't HARM YOU, or ANYONE else around you.
Go exercise, scream into a pillow, pound nails into a board, move it out of your body, shake it out, or dance it out.
Many times, I don't even allow it to rise and take that much from me...
I simply ask myself:
"Is this thing, issue, situation, important enough that I want to give it my energy, my attention and my life force?"
"Is this something I want to be spending my time on?"
"Is it really worth my time, energy and emotions?"
Most of the time the answer is NO.
Here's an example:
Someone ran into our building with a delivery truck and damaged part of it.
Both my husband and I were pretty frustrated.
And I know that when I go to ANGER, nothing is resolved. I feel shitty, and my energy is drained.
So I asked the same questions to myself:
My answer "stuff is just stuff, and money comes and goes".
We did all we could to find out who it was, whether they would take ownership for the damabge and even checked in with our insurance. Nothing.
So... we will have to pay to repair the damage.
Frustrating...yes.
Is it worth my life force?
Absolutely Not.
When I get angry I am the one that suffers most. So I CHOOSE not to be angry.
I CHOOSE not to carry the shit.
I CHOOSE not to spread that and SPREAD LOVE and KINDNESS instead.
Does it sound hard?
I guarantee you, the more you practice (oh yes, there are practices, many techniques and tools I use and teach my clients to use) the easierit becomes.
Ultimately, I'm focused on DOING MY PART to create a world that is KIND, JUST and LOVING.
AND IT STARTS WITH ME. IT STARTS WITH YOU.
The same thing happens when you make a mistake. How do you treat yourself?
Because I guarantee you, how you treat yourself is how you will treat others.
Focusing on empathy, compassion and forgiveness are key things and it starts with each of us.
So...feel the emotions...
Just don't take residence on them...
Don't become them...
They are simply a weather gauge...
And seek out the support and guidance of someone that's NOT afraid of darkeness and who has a compass to get you back to your light.
Find the pathway back to joy... bring your inner child out to play and connect to the innocence and joyful heart that is there still.
Because this is what we all need to do to create the world we need.
Am I committed to creating and bringing light into the world? ABSOLUTELY!
Am I saying that feeling dark emotions is a bad thing? Not at at all. Stop judging, and use the feedback emotions give you as an entry point to healing.
We ALL need to have more kindness, compassion and love towards ourselves and each other to build the world we need.
It's not about PERFECTION it's about HONORING who we are, what we feel, and REMINDING each other, that under all the muck, there's this beautiful, brilliant and Luminous being, waiting to shine.
Spread the love ❤️
